Gary Brooks was "air" born in 1965. While going to college in York, Pennsylvania,
I got my start in broadcasting by doing the 6 o'clock news on WSBA-FM.
No audio is available, thank goodness, but... READ THIS!

My first full-time radio announcing job came in 1966
at WKBO in Harrisburg, PA. I was there for almost
6 years and got a lot of good experience as a disc-
jockey and production director. I even did some
basketball play-by-play.

I landed my first major-market position at legendary
rock station, WIBG in Philadelphia, where I did a midday
air-shift and later became production director.
I wrote and produced a lot of commercials and promos
from 1972 to 1976. I also produced Don Cannon's comedy album and co-wrote and performed in two syndicated comedy serials.

I had my own ad agency and audio/video production company during the late 70's.
(But that's another story.)

announcer for easy-listening, EAZY-101 in Philadelphia.
During the eighties, the music format became more
contemporary and the station was top-rated. I eventually
became production director at EAZY's sister-station, WFIL,
and in the early 90's did a morning-drive show for a couple years.

Then, in the mid 90's, I started having some serious fun with computers and also began my second career as a golf teaching professional.
